Jackie Kazil

Jacqueline Kazil is a part-time PhD student in the CSS department interested in applying agent-based models and networks to organizational development.Jackie is a former Presidential Innovation Fellow (http://www.whitehouse.gov/innovationfellows/), who continued in public service with 18F (https://18f.gsa.gov) after her fellowship.

Her professional work includes many well known and multiple award winning projects -- Geoq (https://github.com/ngageoint/geoq), Chronicling America (http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/), Congress.gov (http://congress.gov/), and Top Secret America (http://projects.washingtonpost.com/top-secret-america/).

She is also active in open-source community development. She founded PyLadies DC and Geo DC. She also runs Django District and assists with DC Python. Jackie received her MA in Convergence Journalism from the University of Missouri, and she is currently working on her PhD in Computational Social Science at George Mason University. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband and their three rescued dogs.
