Holly Russo

Over 17 years of experience working with the DoD and Intelligence Community in various capacities including active duty USAF, researcher for RAND and CNA, performer and Technical SETA for DARPA/I2O, leader and developer for programs at NGA, ONR, JIEDDO and USSOCOM. Exceptional communication skills proven in the areas of collaboration, training, consulting. Broad research and development experience with analytic tools and methodologies, simulation design and development, and cloud computing. Active TS/SCI clearance, USAF veteran, B.Sc. and M.A. in economics from George Mason University, and Ph.D. candidate in computational social science, also from GMU.

I am familiar with ‘back end’ technology concepts in data ingest and storage, hardware, communication layers, cloud infrastructure and parallel processing, but my focus has been on ‘front end’ concepts of UI, workflow and analytics. My preference is to focus on CONOPS and tradecraft prior to considering technology solutions. My approach to leadership and problem solving involves being direct yet friendly, open-minded yet decisive, and energetic yet stopping to observe, think and listen. Having experience with a wide range of organizations and topic areas enhances my abilities to consider unconventional solutions, build effective teams and see through inflated claims; and equips me with greater knowledge of what has been tried and succeeded or failed. My greatest strengths are in technical writing and grasping new information quickly.
