Incorporating Transactional Data into a Housing Market Model

Abstract: We have been working towards an empirically driven agent-based model of the Washington DC metro area during the boom and bust of the 2000's. The project has obtained two unique data sets related to the housing market. The first is from the local real estate association showing list price changes over time. This past fall we obtained an unprecedented data set that combines both public record data and mortgage data. In this talk I will present some of the data and discuss how we are working to incorporate this data into the model.
