Anamaria has a PhD, MA and BA in Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies, Romania. Her first PhD dissertation, "The Theory of International Economics and The Paradigm of Complexity Science:Implications for the Methodology of Economics" is currently under review to be published as a book (in Romanian). She has been a member of the Romanian Society of Economics and the Center for Complexity Studies in Bucharest since 2004. Anamaria has also taught two classes at George Mason University (2008-2009) in Economies in Transition, where she focused on the comparative economic analysis of the institutions of Eastern Europe, Islamic Economic System, North Korea, China and Mexico. She has also been a part of the Baseera project of simulating irregular warfare (funded by ONR), where her research focus was on the economic analysis of conflicts, the stateless society of the Pashtun tribes and hawala networks. Currently, her research is focused on information exchange networks and the emergence of entrepreneurship.
